Application | 2, 2-dimethylpiperidin-4-ol is an organic intermediate, it can be obtained by Raney nickel reduction from 4-hydroxy-6, 6-dimethyl-5, 6-dihydropyridine-2 (1H)-Thione. It has been reported in the literature to be useful in the preparation of FSHR modulators. |
preparation | to 3.15g(20 mmol) 4-hydroxy-6, 6-dimethyl-5, to a solution of 6-dihydropyridin-2 (1H)-thione in 200 ml of EtOH was added 15 g of freshly prepared Raney nickel and then stirred at 50 °c under 45psi of hydrogen for 48 hours. After filtration, the solvent was evaporated. The residue was dissolved in CHCl3, filtered, washed with H2O and dried. The solvent was removed and 2, 2-dimethylpiperidin-4-ol was distilled off in vacuo. The distillate was recrystallized. Yield: 2.24g(87%). |
